Empowering Women Leaders in Penang

The Women’s Assembly Programme (Sidang Wanita Pulau Pinang) is a pioneering initiative by the PWDC aiming to increase the representation of aspiring women leaders in politics and empower them by immersing them in the world of politics.
It empowers participants by immersing them in the political arena, equipping them with firsthand experience and knowledge to navigate the field effectively.
It serves as a platform for participants to experience the process, procedures, and debates held in the state assembly, culminating in a realistic assembly experience.
Penang is the first state in the country to embark on this groundbreaking initiative, setting a precedent for gender-inclusive political participation.

About the Programme

Launched in 2020, the Women’s Assembly Programme is a flagship initiative of the Penang State, offering a combination of workshops, roadshows, and the highly anticipated Penang Women’s Assembly. Since its inception, it has become an annual event, fostering a growing network of capable women leaders dedicated to driving meaningful change.
